Bargate built us a lovely home with only a few small snagging issues - which were all dealt with promptly, and were to be expected with a new house. They also included really nice little details in their plans, like installing an RSJ in the wall between the lounge and kitchen, so we could open the space up if desired (which we did and it looks great). Bargate clearly plan their sites well, because another great addition is the large green space at the bottom of the estate. Other developers cram homes in tightly and fill as much of the space as they can, but our Bargate development is well spaced out. They also haven't sacrificed green areas, so it's a much nicer development to live on than our previous home (which was also a new build). Compared to our previous new build, which was built by a very well-known national constructor, Bargate's was a much, much higher quality. Customer support and the repair agents have been brilliant and I'd highly recommend Bargate Homes.

Just moved in, quite peaceful and a lovely walk are for the family including the dogs. House is perfect for us some snaging problems but it's normal with a new build. Any issues sorted without any fuss.

We recently purchased a new home with Bargate. Initially we did not want a new build home (hear enough horror stories), however, Bargate appear to be nothing like the "usual" developers. Thus far we have been over the moon with out new property. Bargate kept us informed at all steps, and whilst we purchased the house when it was pretty much completed they still spent the time to send us the minor progress images, or answer the phone when we have questions ref timescales etc. Once we moved in some snags were discovered (as expected with any handmade product), Bargate have resolved these promptly and efficiently. It seems Bargate are a developer that actually care about the customers experience and happiness. After the property is purchased they are still very easy to get hold of, they will always pick up the phone or reply to emails same day. The added touches such as the "new home demo" are lovely, and allows any potential use issues to be highlighted and resolved early on, it also allowed Bargate to give us some really good advice on how to handle the home and prevent potential damage. Bargate have really exceeded my expectations and we are very happy with the purchase. I shall be sure to come back and update after a few months have passed!

Super positive experience buying our new home at Heritage place. The build quality is great; good attention to detail and the extra thought in the design is what really counts for us. The connection to the outside space on our road is superb. We have the acres; and it has the modern but traditional home feel to it. The team pre sale and post sale have been super. Special shout out to Seth, Callum and Victoria who helped us massively and kept us well up to date in the lead up to completion. They were very attentive and quick to give us answers and felt like they were on our side the whole way through the process. The aftercare team have been great too, Mark & Ian going the extra mile to make the house perfect has been really well appreciated. Looking forward to many years at Heritage Place.

We purchased our Bargate home at the Hamblewood development. From start to finish we could not have been happier with the level service that we received. I recently bought a property in Bargate's Heritage Place development. The house is beautiful, area is very quiet and green… I love it! The team was always more than happy to help with home visits, answer all my questions and I always felt welcomed and supported. A fantastic local builder who genuinely care about the customer and standard of what they deliver. Do not align Bargate with usual 'new build' stereotypes! I purchased a 4 bed home recently from Bargate which I've been living in for almost a month now. Initially, I was put off by a 'new build' due to the horror stories and general reputation of quality and value for money you get with them vs an older home. Due to the location and specific plot on offer I decided to speak with Bargate to arrange a visit and look for myself. Seeing the homes from brickwork, to 1st fix, to post plaster and completed, I was very impressed with the workmanship, quality of design and materials,and clear pride and ownership they put into the product they deliver with their contractors. The sales team (Zoe, Maddie, Margaret) were all fantastic to deal with, always felt like they were your team and helping you rather than a builder vs buyer kind of relationship. Nothing was ever too much to ask or difficult for them, and I would put myself in the 'difficult customer' category with some things I ask! Worth noting we did have an issue with an initial sales rep, and it was resolved immediately once mentioned to the sales manager, so don't be affraid to communicate with Bargate if you feel something isn't right. The 'home demo' from Nina is also a great added touch - initially it sounds a bit silly, with thoughts of "I know how to use a home, I've been living in one all my life!", but was very informative and valuable and taught us a few things we had issues with in our previous (1970's!) home. The service and outstanding customer service doesn't stop once you've moved in, the aftercare team are just as amazing. I have had a few snags (which you do need to expect with any kind of building work, let alone an entire house, they are handbuilt afterall), Tracey and Lisa in aftercare have been so easy to work with and the turnaround on either fixing, or explaining what they're doing to resolve is beyond expecation. I raised some things that even I questioned whether I'm just being picky with, they weren't questioned at all and resolved. Living on a development in progress you also hear bad stories of, but again, that just hasn't been the case. Everybody on site (Dan the site manager, the gate supervisor, ALL of the contractors and workers we've spoken to) are always happy, friendly and go out of their way to make sure you are OK. Perfect example, a lorry broke down in the road, blocking access to house for about an hour when my partner returned with the shoping, the team onsite parked up my partner in a development carpark up the road, and carried the shopping for her from the car to the house. They didn't have to do that, the lorry wasn't their fault and having to carry the shopping ourselves was a minor inconvenience, but they still made the effort when they could. Overall, I'm super happy with my decision to buy a Bargate home and we love living here.

We have recently moved into the Rivercross development that Bargate Homes built, and are pleased we did. During the build stage, we received regular feedback and pictures from the friendly sales team who kept us up-to-date with the build progress and whom also dealt with our queries as and when they got raised. Post the key handover, we have been diligently cared for by the after sales team who have been friendly and helpful in making sure we understood how to live in and take care of our newly build home and attend to and arrange the necessary professionals to deal with a few of the snags we have come across. Our overall experience has been very pleasant and would recommend that if you are in the market or considering a new home, to engage with Bargate Homes

We moved into our new Bargate home just over a week ago and we couldn’t be happier. Having bought a Bargate home previously in Southampton, we knew the overall quality was very good. I would say our experience at Bishops Meadow has surpassed our previous experience. The quality of the build and the finish is second to none. The design and layout is excellent. The quality of the garden, turf and landscaping has vastly improved. The Sales Team (Especially but not limited to) Charlie and Jonathan has been excellent, sending photos of our property each week and on site visits throughout the build was great. I would highly recommend Bargate as I rarely give 5 stars.

I recently bought a new Bargate home moving in in April 2022. The sales team at Bargate did a great job supporting me throughout the whole process from first walk round at the show home to moving in day and beyond. Every week I got a progress report from them with photos of different aspects of my new home. Jonathan and Charlie were always there on the end of the phone or by email to answer any questions and were happy to help with getting access to measure up for curtains and so on. Since I gave moved in they are in site and happy to help and always with a cheery smile. Nothing is too much trouble for them. I love my new home it fits my needs perfectly but if I were to move again I would not hesitate to turn to Bargate for my new house

I finally moved in a week ago after many months of watching the build, updated every week with photos, it was brilliant being able to see it virtually from the start. The finish and attention to detail are second to none and I would highly recommend purchasing a Bargate home.

Sadly I would love to say that Bargate are an exemplary company that cares, as per all the marketing hype, but unfortunately they really don't. We have had an issue with our garden that they just simply haven't even entertained. We also had a rather dodgy conversation where they arranged to meet us in our house soon after moving in, and to try and save face they walked around the house offering to decorate this room or that room or do a job that we were in the middle of. It transpired that someone had made a mistake on the boundary of the house and were trying to mask the problem rather than deal with it professionally. Its a shame as the house is really quite well built and in the main they were great, but after the first six months/year the after-sales is simply shocking...

We reserved our property in April 2021 on Bishops Meadow development. Although our property was not going to be ready until later that year, we were so impressed with the development plan, the house design, the quality of the finish and the plot. We decided very quickly that we would reserve the plot as it was everything we were looking for. Our journey with Bargate sales office has been outstanding. We dealt with Charlie, Jonathan and Naomi, who have been excellent, although all the staff have been great. They kept us updated through the whole process from build updates and photos every week. Our site visits were always informative and it was lovely to see the property through all the stages of build. If we had any issues or concerns, they were dealt with promptly and professionally. Our handover of the property was on time and a thorough introduction with Paul was excellent. Overall a ten out of ten experience and we are delighted with our new house.

We’ve recently moved in to our new home at Bishops Meadow after reserving over a year ago! I remember booking our first appointment with Naomi to arrange a visit to the new development. We instantly fell in love with the location and knew that was where we wanted to live. We asked Naomi for all plots available within our budget which she happily emailed us and we decided on a plot that wouldn’t be ready for another year! We asked if we could reserve and Naomi made it happen for us! The communication over the past year has been excellent as well as the weekly updates that we receive from the team of pictures of our plot from the foundations to our finished home! We dealt with Jonathan and also Charlie as well who have both also been brilliant! They’re such a lovely sales team and the whole process has been amazing for us! We’re now in our lovely new home and have found the communication with the after care team to be just as good! They have been so quick to review and fix any snags. We’ve been seriously impressed with the entire process and love our new home!

Sorry I've had to update my review , after living in my house for the last 7 months I'm totally disappointed with the ongoing faults , this is not general snagging , lost faith in the build .

From the offset, our experience with Bargate Homes has been fantastic. We first came across the brand when we happened across the wonderful sales team at Bishops Meadow when they launched the new site. The team were exceptionally welcoming, knowledgeable and professional. An unexpected property arose at the Brick Station in Bishops Waltham where the sales team headed up by Margaret and Lorraine operate. We had the opportunity to view the house at first fix and fell in love immediately with both the property and the development, which is meticulously laid out to maximise the beautiful surrounding countryside and woodlands. The design of the house and the proportions fit perfectly around our family of four with an open plan kitchen, separate office and sitting room. Upstairs feels roomy with 3 good sized double bedrooms and the most amazing master suite. Despite the previous apprehension, this 'new build' defies typical designs as it's well balanced and functional. Margaret and Lorraine have always been so generous with their time, which as first 'new build' buyers has been very refreshing. No question seemed too daft, every email was answered promptly, and they were very thorough with the sales progression. On completion day we received a lovely welcome to our new home, which was much appreciated after a long and stressful day. Fast forward and we have now been in situ for 3 months, any snags (and there haven't been many!) have been dealt with efficiently and the ladies still check in on us to make sure everything is Okay. So far our new build journey has exceeded our expectations. Thank you Margaret and Lorriane and the rest of the fabulous team at Bargate Homes.

My partner and I have just moved into our first home together at Bishops Meadow and we are over the moon with our new house! We initially browsed the market with other new build developers and Bargate stands out by a clear mile. The quality of the finish is beautiful and they do not have all the hidden costs for extras that other developers do. In addition, the whole process from reserving off plan to moving in has been seamless and thats thanks to Naomi, Jonathan and Charlie who have worked incredibly hard to keep us up to date and informed throughout the build. They have been so personable, remembered our jobs/ what’s important to us and shared in our excitement! We couldn’t have asked for more! Thank you Bargate!

We have just bought our home in Bishops Meadow and could not be happier with our new home - a brand new home that we plan to enjoy our retirement in and be close to our lovely family. We cannot thank Jonathan and Naomi enough from the very start of choosing our home off plan to the final build of our home. We have been kept notified every step of the way with emails and photos and just that key word "communication" and we were always made to feel a proper person and not just a number. Every question we asked was dealt with every issue we had was dealt with and anything at all that we had any reservations over was dealt with - all in a totally professional and knowledgeable manner. Even after we have moved in the communication is still there asking how we are settling in and how we both are. I certainly would recommend Bargate to any home buyer not only for the layout and design of their lovely homes but for the 100% commitment that all the Staff give to their new buyers. Brickstation feedback. Bargate Homes finish is certainly better than others we considered which were awful. However, it is not excellent as marketed which becomes apparent when you move in. Basically, there are too many minor snags, damages, unfinished items, plus a few major snags on the above ground drainage and plumbing. On the positive side the location and design is lovely, there is no brick rubble in the garden (subsoil & turf), and currently the snags are being addressed (2 months in house) The Bargate sales team are good. The customer care team are ok, however is it very much up to the home owner to be available and update the customer care team, which is very time consuming and requires days off work for months after moving in, an inconvenience that could be avoided by sending the snag team in first and selling a finished product to be proud of. There is an obvious lack of care from some of the construction subbies when working on your house, but I assume you can’t guarantee they are the same contractors across each development, so everything will vary from site to site. Some of them are local firms which is good.

We have recently purchased a property at The Brickstation development in Bishops Waltham and have been extremely happy throughout the whole experience. Margaret, Lorraine, Alison and Charlie (the sales team) are very knowledgeable, friendly and always there to help. Communication throughout the whole process was fantastic, we always looked forward to the weekly progress updates with pictures of the build. Our house looks amazing and we are impressed by the build quality. (nothing like the normal "new build" homes). We would have no hesitation in recommending Bargate Homes to anyone.

Recently brought a home with Bargate Homes , cannot thank Janet Relling enough , she has been very supportive through the whole experience nothing was to much trouble and if we need things done , it was auctioned on her behalf very quickly. I am a Bargate home owner having had a previous great experience some 5 years ago purchasing one of their properties. My thoughts going back recently to another Bargate development meeting with a different sales team was simply how would my all-round experience this time compare. But before I write anything else, anyone reading this must understand I have nothing to do with Bargate, I am not related in any way to any of the staff on The Brickstation team. I am just absolutely delighted to say that if you are lucky enough to be in a position to buy a Bargate property then please know that The Brickstation team will give you a very memorable experience, treating you impeccably, with total understanding of your needs and wants, with great knowledge of the properties available and will take you through a highly efficient detailed process (if you require) of how you will be able to be a proud owner of one of their superb Bargate homes. The other key factor in my experience was their ability to empathise and to go the extra mile in whatever it takes to make the customer special and wanted. I can only say please don't hesitate if you are thinking of buying a Bargate home and if visiting The Brickstation you will meet a fantastic team. I can't thank them enough for my (second) all round great experience. To the Bargate Directors, please reward this team accordingly.

We moved into our house at The Brickstation in September 2020. We were lucky enough to be able to pick our own choices for our beautiful home adding our own personal touch. The sales team at the brickstation were very helpful and kept us up to date with the process of our house. Due to COVID we were unable to move into house when originally planned, but as soon as sites were back open the ball started rolling bargate kept us posted with dates of when we would be able to move. Overall we were happy with the experience and would definitely recommend buying a bargate home.

In July 2020, we bought a new build in Bishop's Waltham, built by Bargate Homes. We were immediately impressed by the manner in which they conducted themselves. Their marketing team has done an excellent job in presenting Bargate as a family business - and this isn't just an image. The more time we spent with Bargate, the more it became clear that they are more than just a faceless building conglomerate. They are a company that care about the finer details, and clearly care about the customer too. We had a rather tumultuos transaction due to issues with our buyer (nothing to do with Bargate), but Charlie and Margaret from The Brick Station were there every step of the way. They offered advice when we needed it, and even stepped in to help out in certain situations where they could. We are so pleased we made the decision to buy from Bargate.

We love our new Bargate Home at the Archerswood Development, Fair Oak. Lorraine made the buying experience really wonderful... full of energy and enthusiasm, nothing was ever too much trouble for her and any queries were always dealt with immediately. The communication from Lorraine was exceptional... we loved receiving the weekly progress and photo updates from her. A lovely personal touch which really helped us to stay connected and feel involved throughout the build process. Really delighted to see Bargate’s support of small local businesses and suppliers, as well as the thoughtful eco friendly touches around the development. As with every new build home, it’s not unusual to experience some snagging issues, so ours came as no surprise. Most are being worked through quickly and efficiently. We’re confident that the remaining snagging will also be resolved in a timely fashion. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Bargate Homes!

Absolutely love our home! Felt like home from the very start. Bargate really do care about you and your home. We have a 2 bed and feel the same thought has gone in to the design of the 2 beds as the5 beds, the same quality and care. Would highly recommend to any one looking at buying a new home.

We have been so impressed with Bargate Homes and at this moment in time would highly recommend buying a new build property with them. The process was new to us but Lorraine specifically has been so helpful, efficient and pleasant throughout the whole process! We completed on the house today and move in officially tomorrow, so can't comment on living in the property yet but we believe the hard part is over. The houses are beautifully built, and ours is more than we could have hoped for. Bargate have been a lovely company to deal with, thank you!

Perfect home for our little girl to grow up in, high standard finishes and lots of extra space. Even got a playpark right outside our front door.

On the whole we have been delighted to buy a home from Bargate. The build quality is second to none, the designs of the houses and quality o materials mean that our home looks as though it was always meant to be here. We never wanted a copy and paste job that looked like a bright red, cheap new house. Bargate's homes are all designed based on the surrounding area, and we are thrilled with how our home looks and feels. We've had locals nosing around the new development saying how nice it is to see new homes that people would actually want to live in and look at. We were looked after by Sally, Naomi and Lorraine throughout our buying process and couldn't have asked for more - they have all been really friendly, attentive and answered all our queries swiftly. We were truly made to feel as though we were the only clients in the world that mattered and are still always thrilled to see Lorraine on site. We even feel like we've made friends with the marketing team via emails and Instagram! We've been less impressed with the aftercare team - we don't feel as if they care as much about our queries and feel they've been a bit dismissive of us. That said, they do still come back to us in a timely manner. I would truly recommend Bargate as a provider - the quality of their homes is fabulous and we have been delighted with how well we've been looked after generally.

Bargate Homes was not a builder I was familiar with, a company I understood to be small and privately owned. My experience during the purchasing process was easy and straightforward and Bargate delivered on time, communicating well throughout the process. My feeling then was that this company was attempting to establish themselves in a way that put their customers at the forefront of the house owning experience. For example I was able to make changes to the build within a specified time, and this gave me what I felt was an important level of control over the final finish of the home I eventually purchased. In addition the commitment by Bargate to deal with any defects for a period of two years was a compelling part of the comfort I derived from choosing this builder. The strength of any commitment will always be tested in the ongoing relationship, particularly where defects either minor or major manifest themselves. As with all new homes there will always be things that are not right. Some of these will appear immediately and others when you have had time to take a harder look. My main intention in writing this review is to draw attention to the fact getting defects put right is often where the relationship with the builder breaks down. This was not my experience with Bargate. I found the process of getting things rectified refreshingly honest and straightforward. They have a dedicated, hard working and friendly team that communicates extremely well and in a timely way. There was never a point where I felt that something would not be corrected and for me this speaks volumes for the type of company that Bargate has set out to be. So often when something is not what what we intended or wanted we can sometimes take take an adversarial position in an attempt to rectify what we perceive as a wrong. It is not necessary with this company. An open minded, well communicated approach to problem solving is all that is needed with a company that has an open and honest relationship at the forefront of its philosophy.

Bargate have let themselves down with our development. This is a shame as we are happy with the house itself. However they fell short in a few key areas. We currently do not have safe access to our property via foot and have not for the last 6 months since we have moved in. (For at-least a couple of weeks they literally had a gang-plank as part of the footpath) We've not been impressed by amount of rubbish on our development. We have been told that they have no idea who is on site due the fact they are sub-contracting. Workmen have been leaving rubbish everywhere for the residents to clean up on a daily basis since we have moved in. Bargate were inflexible when it came to replacing the default gas hob with an induction one. Initially, we wanted this as an upgrade but was faced with complications and we even offered to purchase one ourselves. The most they could do was cap the gas and leave us to find our own contractors which left us disappointed. If your looking to buy a Bargate home, please ignore what they say about getting connected to the internet. Its up to OpenReach. Bargate can not guarantee that you will have internet move in you. We were told many times that we would have internet when we moved in but did not for 3 months, I wish they had just been honest with us. It is also worth mentioning that we were also given an initial move in date of Sep 2018 but moved in Dec 2018. We know other residents who had their homes delayed for even longer. So please take the move in date with a pinch of salt. The delay is not the reason for our negative review as these things happen. However the acute lack of communication during this time caused added stress especially as we were facing deadlines with our rental property. It felt like we were always chasing them and they didn't want to take that extra step to update us. (even though we requested updates several times, we would always be the one phoning them)

We have recently reserved our first home at Waltham Grange and cannot fault the service received by Margaret and Alison in the Sales Office. They guided us through the process and nothing was too much trouble. The show home at Meon Green is beautiful, the quality and standard of finish is extremely high, and we cannot wait to move into our beautiful Bargate home in summer 2019.

Bargate Homes not only build lovely houses - they have been absolutely fantastic with all the snagging problems that I have experienced - rectifying each one promptly and efficiently - and sometimes going beyond their remit in helping me. I would always recommend them.

It was our first time buying 'off plan' and having set foot in the marketing suite, we just knew we were making the right decision. Our Bargate home is lovely, with a decent specification and lots of upgrades to make the interior unique and our own. The team behind building our house, bringing it to market and helping us to settle it, can only be classed as 'outstanding'! Great communication every step of the way and doing their utmost to meet our needs. Having moved in the exemplary customer service has made us feel a truly valued customer. Bargate understand that you're buying more than a pile of bricks and would definitely recommend them.

We absolutely LOVE our Bargate home! We weren't looking to move house but one weekend drove passed the Norton Heights development and stopped to be nothing more than nosey!! Alex, the sales negotiator was excellent, she was incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable. We were very impressed with the specification level and attention to detail both in the houses and throughout the scheme as a whole. Alan the site manager was also brilliant, he obviously takes great pride in his work and was always great at answering any questions we had. Nothing was too much trouble. Since moving in, Lisa & Carly from the after sales team have been amazing! We were concerned about the level of after care, but again, Bargate exceeded our expectations and we are very proud of our beautiful new home.

Myself and my partner always comment on how lucky we are to have found Bargate Homes. We were never planning on looking at buying a new build but once a friend recommended we absolutely fell in love. It was quite scary buying a house from a plan but it is the best thing we’ve ever done. From start to finish they’ve been amazing - and are still continuing to be fab! Lorraine was incredible - it took hours to choose what colours and extras we wanted in our home but Lorraine sat with us and helped us through everything. Any snags we found wrong with our home have always been dealt with promptly. We recently got a puppy, and it feels like Bargate have been on that journey with us too - they bought us some gorgeous toys and bandana after finding out she was digging up our lawn! I’m a primary school teacher and asked Bargate if I could have 3 of their old orange building fences to put in our outside area at school - they bought us a whole new construction area free of charge!! It’s the community feel and welcoming you get that has blown me away - all of the little extras that they do including buying us all a pumpkin and carving kit and sweets for Halloween!! They have now helped me organise a Christmas do for all of our neighbours. Jade has been behind the social media side of things and has organised all of the extras- we can’t thank you enough Jade. Family and friends are also in love with how beautiful our home and surroundings are too. I couldn’t recommend Bargate Homes enough, we have a stunning home and have already made friends for life.

We feel so lucky that we stumbled across Bargate when buying our first home together! From the second we met Lorraine, her engergy and warmth made the whole process SO exciting. Lorraine devoted hours of her time to guiding us through choosing beautiful elements of our home, and ensuring we knew every little inch of how it would look and where things would be. Lorraine and Site Manager Chris showed us around the house on a number of occasions during the build, which meant we got to don our hard hats and see the house from when it was just a shell. The memories and photos of being part of the build are ones we will cherish forever, and make our very first home even more special to us. Unfortunately, I had to be at work during our day of completion, so only my partner was there during the exciting moment that we were given the keys- however, Lorraine being Lorraine knew how eager I would be to be part of it all, and took the time to give me a call and sing the ‘congratulations’ song down the phone. I cannot tell you how the one million little touches from bargate make their home buying experience second to none. The financial adviser and solicitor they recomended to us were brilliant, and bargate leading us in their direction meant the whole process was incredibly easy. Bargate have never seemed like ‘just’ housing developers, they are a company full of lovely local people all working to make sure the home buying experience is as wonderful as possible. When our mortgage offer was going to run out- Bargate worked doubly hard to make sure we could move in early. When we’ve noticed any imperfections in the house- someone has knocked on the door with a friendly smile and got it fixed to a lovely standard. Even as I write, Bargate are out blowing the leaves off our drives- another in a long list of small gestures that make living in our finished home and development so wonderful. Bargate have never just seen us as just two of many customers, but as being part of their growing family. Jade, who runs Bargate’s social media accounts has always been wonderful in making us feel so welcome, and takes time to complement any photos of our home. Jade’s efforts to celebrate Bargate customers on the Bargate instagram page, meant we were able to contact people who live on the development, and as a result have made friends for life. Jade is now bombarded with photos of our cheese and wine nights, team roast dinners and general slipper-wearing fun! (Sorry Jade!) We even contacted Jade to help us organise a Christmas get together for us and our new neighbours, and she did not disappoint. It’s not just Jade, Lorraine and Chris who make bargate shine, the whole team are so much fun; On Halloween, Bargate dropped in a box of goodies to every home to get us in the spooky spirit- inside a pumpkin, carving kit and an enormous box of sweets! Bargate, we cannot thank you enough for absolutely EVERYTHING. We love our Bargate home.

We have just moved into our investment property in Lovedean. The house has been beautifully finished to a high standard and a few minor snags were resolved swiftly. The whole experience has been a pleasure and the Bargate Homes team couldn’t have done more at every stage of the process.

Our experience as buyers of a Bargate Home has been extremely stressful. Minor snags have indeed been dealt with promptly by very lovely people, but the same cannot be said of some of the more complicated issues we have experienced. I can't really agree with all those five star reviews they've received in the past three weeks. I could not possibly recommend them.

A long held ambition of this and previous Parish Council's has to been to own and manage its own offices with plenty of space for the storage of machinery and equipment, and be in the middle of both villages that make up our Parish. This dream has become reality with the wonderful building designed in partnership between Bargate Home and the Parish of Fair Oak and Horton Heath. Right from the start Bargate have been as enthusiastic as The Council and nothing has been too much trouble. We have tinkered with the designs, added new features sometimes asked almost the impossible and they have delivered for us the most amazing purpose built offices designed to take us firmly into the future as the Parish expands and we have more responsibility.

We've recently moved in to our new home on Bargate's Walnut Place development in Southampton. We bought our last home from new and Bargate were breath of fresh air and a complete contrast from the large developer we bought from previously. We thought things might be different right from the first brochure we were given, showcasing the homes they had to offer. This didn't stop; we could tell that their staff really cared - they were selling a home rather than a house and we weren't just a number, the gift of bubbly and chocolates when we reserved and the 'welcome home' present on the day we moved in. Most importantly and at every stage of the journey, they took the time to help us as much as they could - right the way up to the day we moved in when the site manager was working out the logistics of removal lorries to ensure everybody could get in and unpacked in good time. We had a particularly long road to get to exchange due to some challenges on our related sale. We thought on so many occasions we wouldn't get our dream home as surely Bargate would need to find a new buyer. They worked with us, stayed patient and went far over and above anything I'd expect from a company who ultimately has to worry about the profit they are making. Their focus was building a good home and doing everything they could to allow us to be the one to buy it. We moved in just over a week ago and remain very pleased with our new home. It's what we were promised, the finish is great and I have no regrets about buying a house off-plan from a company I knew nothing about. I work in Financial Services for a company passionate about being the best at customer service. We strive to be what Apple are for technology or the Amazon of online shopping; Bargate Homes have mastered that for when someone is buying a new home. I'd recommend Bargate to anyone looking for their dream home and if you're considering buying a New Build, I'd urge you to give them a chance whilst looking around!

We bought a house from Bargate Homes almost a year ago in one of their exclusive developments but, along with many of the other residents in the development, have been appalled by their complete lack of customer service. We paid a premium for an executive home built by a company that used to have a good reputation. Sadly now, almost one year on, we are still fighting them to get snagging items corrected, to get compensation for significant out of pocket expenses caused by their poor workmanship / misleading information and to live up to their promises of putting right their wrongs in a 'fair and reasonable' manner. We have had no option but to get the NHBC involved on numerous occasions. We would never buy a Bargate home again and warn others to be cautious about doing so.

I recently dealt with Bargate Homes and found their service commendable and one I would whole heartedly recommend. The build quality of their homes is of a high standard and finish. From beginning to end the experience was a pleasant one.
