We had a rear extension completed by DSB in summer 2025, adding a new sitting room, utility room and refurbishment of our downstairs WC. A year on, we're still absolutely delighted with it. The extra living space has transformed how we use the house, and having a utility room is a genuine luxury, particularly after finally getting the washing machine out of the kitchen. The build took around 5 months and, whilst we obviously lost the use of the garden during that period, the impact on the rest of the house was surprisingly limited. We were able to continue living normally throughout most of the project. Danny was excellent to work with. One of the things we valued most was his communication. He was always clear, straightforward and responsive, keeping us informed throughout the project. If the team said they would be there, they were. If plans changed, we knew about it. That level of communication gave us real confidence and made the whole process far less stressful than it could have been. The whole team and subcontractors were polite, respectful and considerate, and the site was always well organised and safe. The quality of workmanship and finish is excellent. There were a few issues with the windows, but these were dealt with promptly and resolved within the agreed timeframe without any fuss. DSB also handled communication with our neighbours exceptionally well. One neighbour was directly affected through the party wall works and was without a garden fence for a significant period, yet we never had any complaints or issues because Danny and the team kept everyone informed throughout. Building Control inspections were passed without issue, the project came in broadly on budget, and the finished extension blends seamlessly with the original house. The design complements the traditional style of our home. Most importantly, the extension has delivered exactly what we wanted it to. We now have significantly more usable space downstairs and the house works far better for our family. A year later, we wouldn't change a thing. We would happily use DSB again and would have no hesitation in recommending Danny and his team

DSB did a kitchen extension with a vaulted ceiling that extended into the existing property. We’re extremely pleased with the result. Excellent planning and creativity to contribute to the design; excellent and open/transparent communication; they provided a competitive quote compared with others we received and stuck to it; very high quality work and dealt with the sensitivities of a Grade II* property in an effective way. Highly recommended.

We had a metallic squeak in our master bedroom and landing that the developer failed to resolve; just walking away after multiple failed repairs. After going through insurance, Danny attended our property to bid for the contract. Straight away he had our trust with his knowledge and understanding of the work required. We were pleased when Danny was eventually awarded the contract to carry out, what for us, should have been a long and stressful process. But it wasn’t. Danny walked us through the project, explaining what work needed to carried out, for what originally was scheduled to be eight-weeks. The work involved demolishing a stud wall between the hall and Kitchen and resolving structural issues on a supporting steel beam above. Because the non-fire rated plasterboard was used on the kitchen ceiling, the correct ceiling plasterboard was to be fixed over the original plasterboard in the kitchen and hall. Day one: display cabinets and storage units were removed along the partition wall and the stud wall demolished. All before we had moved out of the house! What was originally an eight-week project reduced down to six weeks, thanks to Danny’s brilliant team, with at its peak, consisted of six men on the job! Throughout the whole six-weeks, Danny kept us informed of the various stages from the major building work, through to plastering, painting, flooring and finally cleaning. We are grateful to Danny for firstly shaving two weeks off the project, but especially for his knowledge and professionalism. When we moved back in, the standard of workmanship was, well, to put it, superb! In fact, it was better than when we first moved in! What I would say is that right from the very beginning, Danny considered the affect this was having on us, especially as it had been a long and stressful journey up to that point. Danny was at pains for us to have faith in builders who care and are considerate. Thank you Danny!
