After waiting over six months for the planned brick layer not to turn up we contacted Steven at Herringbone Brickwork. From the outset they were professional and efficient and within a month they had started work on the brickwork for our heritage greenhouse. The workmanship was excellent, completed with great detail and pride. The team were a pleasure to have about and an unusually bonus was the work was completed under the quote. I could not recommend them highly enough.
Steve recently completed a repointing job for me on our grade II listed cottage. It’s a job that’s needed doing for a long time, as we’ve had some damp issues, due to incorrect materials used in the past (cement mortar) Finding the right person that knew about heritage buildings was really difficult. As soon as I spoke with Steve I could tell he was the right person for the job and certainly knew his stuff around these old buildings. The job was completed to a high standard, using lime mortar, and it was left nice and tidy afterwards Couldn’t recommend Herringbone Brickwork any more!
We are very happy with Steven and his teams work on building a wall where the back door used to be. The bricks match very closely so looks very smart. Steven was also brilliant with keeping me informed with the suppliers materials availability. Would highly recommend!
Completely transformed our space and couldn’t be happier with the workmanship right from the start to the end result. Steve and team are helpful, knowledgeable and couldn’t have worked harder to meet our needs. They even kept the site neat and tidy which is exactly what we needed with two little ones in the mix! Would definitely use again and recommend.
Steve & his team have done a fabulous job repointing our Victorian house. The original mortar was a total patchwork, failing in many places and starting to cause damp indoors. All the old mortar was raked out and replaced with traditional lime to make sure the house can breathe again. We’re over the moon with how much better it looks and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Herringbone Brickwork!

I'm frankly amazed at the positive reviews for this company. In my experience they are unreliable and did a really poor job of re-pointing my house. The job was left unfinished and Steve never replied to texts or emails. Steer well clear from this company is my advice

Just like to say a big thank you to Steve and his team for taking the strain and stress out of building our extension. We wanted a brick quoined, flint infilled extension to our heritage Sussex cottage, and we asked several companies to quote. Steve replied immediately and talked through our options which he then priced up very competitively. He started on time, worked efficiently and cleanly, never left us in an overnight mess and was always cheerful and polite. The building inspector passed all stages on first visit and the workmanship is exquisite. We are extremely pleased with our new look home.
