R.S.Aston Builders

Richard and Joe did a complete bathroom renovation for us. Richard spent a lot of time with me going through things to consider before they were appointed to do the work, which was so helpful. The quote was very detailed, which again his helpful in planning your finances. The quality of work was excellent. Joe did long days working to get the project completed as soon as possible. They were very clean working in the house. Richard went the extra mile to make our lives as easy as possible. Would highly recommend.

We love our new bathroom! A huge thank you to R S Aston Builders for a fantastic job. Richard & Joe have done brilliant work. They would always make sure that the area which they worked in would be left clean & tidy at the end of each day. We couldn't be happier. Also thanks to Pete & Carlos for their excellent work. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend R S Aston Builders.

RS Aston have been in business for almost 70 years - and their experience shows. Richard (“says what they’ll do and does what they say”) Aston is a highly conscientious individual. From the initial meeting with Richard I had confidence in the complete en-suite refurbishment. His advice was invaluable. He produced a detailed quote and stage payment invoices throughout. The job was efficiently project managed with the other trades, leading to seamless progress throughout. Joe turned up on time every day and worked a full day. He is a perfectionist and was meticulous and punctilious in his approach to every aspect of the venture. At the end of each working day, the working areas were vacuumed and left clean and tidy. The finished job is immaculate. I would have no hesitation in recommending RS Aston.

A second project that has been completed by R S Aston Builders and delighted with the results. A complete renovation of a kitchen/utility area & cloakroom. This involved going back to the bare walls, replacing the ceiling, and basically replacing all the shoddy work by the initial house builders from the 80s.The project had quite a few intricacies such as replacing/moving the boiler, updating/replacing the hot water system, new heating circuit/rads for the garden room extension and new electrics/fuse board. Richard coordinated all the trades architect reports and building control approvals in place. I was so pleased to let this aspect of the project be overseen by Richard. Richard and Joe are highly skilled in what they do and take enormous pride in providing a high-class finish to provide total customer satisfaction. The finished result is lovely new kitchen cupboards with lots of clever storage trays etc, quartz and glass worktop/splashback and a beautiful floor

We wanted to put an offer on a property last year but wanted to get an idea on structural issues (particularly the roof) first and a quote on the cost of repairs, and Richard went above and beyond, and produced a detailed report on the issues for us. It was well worth paying for the quote and we should soon now be moving in! Great service for quotes and very friendly to communicate with.

I would absolutely recommend Richard and team. We wanted a bathroom refit in our Victorian house with some additional works to adjoining rooms including radiators and electrics. From previous experience we suspected that this would reveal structural problems. From the beginning Richard worked with us, listened to our concerns and provided detailed quotes. Once work started and revealed the expected issues he explained the problems and our options clearly and honestly so we could make decisions. Work was done to a very high standard, excellent attention to the details, and while keeping the house as clean and tidy as possible! The team were no problem to have around, strongly recommend.

We asked R.S Aston to complete a refit of our existing ensuite, and the end result was fantastic! They were incredibly conscientious throughout the project and consistently checked that we were happy with the work already completed. To try and minimise disruption, they cleaned up every day and accommodated any last minute changes! We would definitely recommend them!

We recently had a new kitchen fitted by RS Aston Builders. We were anxious about having such a big job done as there always seems to be some issues with the house! However, Richard, Joe and Tom were so professional, and nothing seemed to be a problem. Richard spent a long time going through all the options with us when we were designing and choosing our kitchen. He was always quick with responses if I emailed him any queries and gave such great advice when we were considering options. The quote that Richard sent me was very detailed which was great to see and make any changes required. When the work started Richard, Joe and Tom were so considerate of our working from home. There were some issues with the house along the way, but Richard made me feel confident in their work and they sorted any problems out seamlessly. At the end of each day they cleared, cleaned and tidied the area in which they were working. Richard sent interim, detailed invoices along the way which we really appreciated. The detail to the work that they have carried out is amazing. We are so pleased with our kitchen – it’s the best room in the house now! As well as being so professional, Richard, Joe and Tom are so friendly – I’ll miss them!

We were very impressed and happy with the standard of work carried out at our house. Richard and his team were very friendly, polite and accommodating. We would highly recommend these guys to all.

Richard and the team have done a fantastic job renovating our 60s property to a modern mid century feel bringing it back to a conditional that’s probably better than when it was new. Having so much work needed doing at once was daunting but Richard planned and arranged every aspect of our bathroom and kitchen which included gutting downstairs. The structural work to combine the kitchen dinner and install a large feature window have transformed the space making it hard to believe they’re the same rooms. We really appreciate the attention to detail the team takes which makes the space a joy to use day to day, the work has totally transformed the way we live in our home.

We chose Richard because he did a larger kitchen refurbishment for our daughter in a house built in 1906 and we were very impressed with his workmanship and attention to detail. Richard and team did a marvellous job refitting 2 bathrooms and a kitchen which was not in any way straightforward in a 1930's house. They always arrived punctually and kept us updated on progress. They helped us to choose what appliances would fit to maximise space and had very helpful suggestions. Richard coordinated the electrician, plumber, plasterer and flooring specialist and masterminded the project from start to finish. The only problem after completion was due to a faulty part which was a manufacturer's fault and twice Richard's team came next day to replace it. I would have no hesitation in recommending Richard to anyone wanting work done.

Complete design and refurbishment of shower room in February 2023. When it came to the design and refurbishment of our shower room we chose to employ R S Aston Builders knowing them to be a local and trusted builder. From our first meeting with Richard Aston to discuss the project it was clear to us that Richard not only had an excellent technical knowledge of the work required but was a person who clearly listened to the client, as to their preferred fittings and colour scheme. The work was carried out by Richard, Joe and Luke and the quality of the workmanship and professionalism was excellent. We are exceedingly pleased with the new shower room that was completed in February 2023 and would highly recommend R S Aston Builders. Peter & Elisabeth (Caversham)

We used R.S Aston builders to completely overhaul our kitchen and dining room. We are very pleased with the end result and couldn't recommend his services enough to those who are looking to have work carried out. Richard, Joe and Luke were very friendly and were a pleasure to have in our home for the period of the work. They were very tidy and the all the work that was carried out was done to the highest standards. They always arrived prompt on time and I am completely thrilled with the overall finished job. Would like to thank Richard, Joe and Luke once again for their fantastic craftmanship and I wouldn't hesitate to use them for there work again in the future.

Our kitchen refurbishment by R S Aston Builders was a project very well managed from start to finish with Richard organising the electrician, plumber, gas man, flooring specialists etc. The workmanship and eye to detail is excellent and pride taken in every aspect of their work. All materials are of a very high quality and their advice given was extremely beneficial. Richard and Joe are very hard working, punctual, polite and friendly, considerate and tidy workers. Their professionalism is outstanding. We would most definitely recommend them and have even asked them to return to do further work!

We highly recommend RS Aston. Richard and Joe completely renovated our kitchen and converted part of our garage into a utility room and cloakroom. The whole process through quotation, design, construction to completion was smooth and Richard guided us at every step. They are friendly and approachable and kept us informed and updated on the progress. Richard uses quality suppliers and materials, he also guided us on our purchasing of appliances etc. We found them to be reliable, trustworthy and efficient. As well as clean and tidy at all times. Their workmanship is of a high standard and they certainly have an eye for detail. We are delighted with the end result.

We have been very happy with the 4 weeks that the R.S. Aston team spent on our kitchen renovation. Richard helped advise, plan and design a user-friendly kitchen and prioritise choices to work around budget constraints. Richard organises all the relevant electricians, gas engineers etc. as part of the project. Joe and Richard installed a brilliant quality kitchen with a very high standard of workmanship. They cleaned up every day and treated our home with respect. A dog friendly team, so our spaniel enjoyed the process too. We’ve been enjoying using our kitchen now for three weeks, extremely happy customers. Will be getting the team back for any future work planned.

Excellent bathroom redevelopment, high quality work, very happy with results.

Richard and Joe were fantastic. From start to finish they worked hard and kept everything very tidy. We discussed our ideas and they helped us realise everything we wanted. Even when problems were found (damp under the floor) they communicated the progress and solutions very quickly and solved the issues very well. They were very organised and paid great attention to the smallest details which left us very impressed and happy with the work they did. We would highly recommend them.

The service of Richard Aston is fabulous. We have had him doing jobs for improvements at our house twice and we have been very pleased with what he has done and the way he works. From the first contact to the end product., it has been a positive experience. Richard is knowledgeable and understands clients' needs quickly. Richard's and his assistant's work is quick and always taking care of producing as little disturbance as possible. They always leave the place clean after each working day. Richard has also been good at finding additional actions we didn't consider to improve the end product even more. We definitely recommend his work.

We are delighted with the kitchen that Richard and Joe have created for us. From the first consultation to the final handover, we have been impressed with their professionalism, care, and attention to detail. Always on time; happy to deal with the inevitable unexpected findings/challenges; happy to provide opinions, but also prepared to accept our choices; and cleaned up at the end of every day (and often during the day too). Richard provided a very clear, itemised budget with his quote, which meant that we could easily track each stage and know the impact of any changes as we were going along. We will certainly use Richard again, and have already happily recommended his services to others.

Richard and Joe have done a fantastic job for us. They have moved our kitchen completely from one part of the house to another, then changing the old kitchen into a downstairs toilet/shower room and a utility room. This was done by them with great ease. They have completed the work to the highest standard, and with minimum disruption to us. Their advice on what to do, what to have and where to put things has been invaluable for someone like myself who is not good at making decisions! They were here every day without fail, and as other clients have no doubt said, their working area is kept extremely clean and tidy. We are so pleased with our new rooms, and would not hesitate to recommend RS Aston Builders to anyone else.

I have waited, literally, years to have a properly fitted kitchen and, it’s no exaggeration to say that Richard Aston and Joe have made this, virtually, a life-changing experience. Richard’s knowledge of the workings of a modern kitchen is key to how brilliantly the product is designed and fitted. They listen to what you want and how you will use the space and everything is implemented with your needs in mind. For instance, heating, lighting, and ventilation, are all remarkable accurate and discrete. The appliances are fitted to perfection and when it comes to colour and design, this is where Richard and Joe really excel. Richard’s years of experience means he knows what will work with the look of the house and the impression you aim to create in this most crucial living space. Richard and Joe fitted our bathroom at the end of last year and we love it. It’s perfect and comfortable and a massive improvement on anything that went before it. So, there was no question about who was going to fit the kitchen. Richard and Joe are absolute perfectionists and they work with electricians and plumbers, who have similar standards. Sometimes I walk into the kitchen forgetting where I am because it looks, almost, too good to be true. We were very lucky to be put in touch with R.S. Aston. I should also mention, they do a very clean job and are lovely to work with. Kate

Extremely professional, did my kitchen and COULD NOT be more happy!! 100% recommend them!!

When we employed Richard Aston and his crew to do the bathroom, I had very specific ideas about how I wanted it to look – the bath, itself, was 70 years old and the house was built in the 1950s. The end result has been perfect. It fits with the look of the house but has a modern edge. Richard and his colleagues did an amazing job: clean and efficient. But, above all, I cannot find a flaw in their work. Everything in the bathroom works perfectly, fits perfectly and long years in the trade mean that Richard can advise you on any aspect of your bathroom refurbishment. We are very happy with the end result.

Richard and Joe just completed a 7 week job with us. We are extremely pleased with the result. They removed an old kitchen, blocked an old backdoor, raised the height of a chimney breast and installed a brand new kitchen with quartz worktops, with new radiators, range cooker, renovated larder, and bi-fold doors. New pendant and spot lights, painted walls, new floors and a new sash window finished the look. The guys also completely renovated the utility room. Richard and Joe were very professional from initial quote to last visit, and always left the place tidy at the end of the day. Even the skip was well-organised. This sort of job is a big investment for most people and we really trusted Richard and his working practices - we believe we got very good value for money, and I have already started a wish list of other jobs for Richard and Joe. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend these two and their team.

We used RS Aston to refurbish our bathroom recently. What a fantastic job they did for us, they explained everything as it was being done. All work was done to the highest standards and the finish was fantastic. I would highly recommend Richard and his company to anyone

Richard and his team have recently fitted our beautiful new kitchen. This is the third major work they have carried out for us. Task 1 was replacement of the ceiling in our kitchen/diner and building a cloakroom in that area. Task 2 was refurbishment of our dilapidated bathroom. Task 3 was to redesign our very awkwardly shaped kitchen, including replacement of the windows and door. A number of difficulties were encountered, due to previous poor workmanship. All were solved in a very professional way, with consultation when required. We now have a very smart, functional kitchen, which is a joy to work in. With all 3 projects, we received detailed estimates, which were very close to the final price. All work was to a very high standard, as was the advice offered before and during the process. Richard was an excellent project manager and everyone involved was polite and sensitive to our situation. This reduced our stress levels considerably. I would recommend Richard wholeheartedly.

We were looking to replace our bathroom, kitchen and utility room and approached a variety of companies. We’re delighted that we chose RS Aston Builders as they not only did a fantastic job but were competitive on price. From the initial estimating process onwards, Richard showed great attention to detail and was very thorough, providing an itemised estimate which proved to be very accurate. There were a lot of unknows with the job, given the nature of an old house, and Richard was great at finding solutions when we encountered issues – nothing phased him, and his knowledge of all the disciplines was really beneficial. Richard and his team were extremely reliable, professional, and very clean and tidy – this was important to us as it made it a lot more manageable to live in the house during the works. We’re thrilled with the quality and finish on both the bathroom and kitchen. We would be happy to recommend RS Aston Builders and would definitely work with them again on future projects.

Just had our bathroom completely renovated by RS Aston. These are the best builders I have ever worked with, and can’t fault them at all. Aside from the stunning bathroom they created they are reliable , tidy and turn up every day - that might sound basic, but we have had other builders before who didn’t even show on some days as they were juggling other projects. Will use again and absolutely no concerns about them at all.

The service, care and attention we received from RS Aston from their first visit for an estimate through to completing the kitchen was exceptional. We required a wall removing an RSJ putting in and the whole kitchen and family room gutting decorating. Not only was the craftmanship and attention to exceptional (comments from visiting friends and neighbours) but the advice we were given whilst making such difficult large decisions was perfect, helping us to avoid what would have been bad decisions on reflection. Despite finding some surprises (from the original builders poor work) the whole project was delivered within 5% of the original estimate and on time. This was a large and scary project for us and RS Aston managed the whole process keeping us well informed and able to make detail decisions (and changes of mind) as we went through. I would not hesitate to use RS Aston again, the final result was much better than we could possibly of hoped for,

I engaged RS Aston to renovate my bathroom and it was a decision well made. The quality of workmanship was absolutely second to none, I have had guests round to show it off! The price was extremely competitive, especially considering some unforseen problems popped up. A real nice extra touch was the way everything was taken in their stride, the unforseen issues were dealt with professionally and efficiently, making what could have been a very stressful time for me very smooth indeed. An absolutely professional job, the guys worked like trojans to get the job complete as efficiently as possible without sacrificing quality and craftmanship. They even left my home cleaner than when they arrived! Hugely impressed, would highly recommend them to anyone considering utilising their services.

I now have my dream kitchen and new shower room. I have to say I had 3 x sleepless nights before the boys started but I needn't have worried This experience was totally amazing from first 1st visit to last. A joy to have Darren Joe and Richard in the house. The workmanship has been 1st class and nothing was too much trouble all the way through the build. Kept to costs and time and I have to say they do clean up well at the end of each day. Would have no doubts at all in recommending R.S. Aston Builders.

We are absolutely delighted with our new kitchen, designed and fitted by R S Aston. Although we had very specific requirements there was never any sighing and tooth sucking. They just got on with it and put together the kitchen we have always wanted. We were particularly impressed with the way they co-ordinated the work, bringing in an electrician and someone to make and fit the door at exactly the right time so there was no delay in getting the work done. Their advice on colour schemes, kitchen appliances, lighting and everything else down to tiles and cupboard handles was invaluable. The builders themselves were polite and friendly and very understanding of the fact that there were dogs in the house who might bark at them. I think the dogs missed them when they left. I would recommend this company to anyone who wants a first class professional job carried out by experts at a very competitive price.

We have recently employed Richard and his team to undertake a refurbishment of the ground floor of our property. Right from the first conversation requesting a quote, you get a good impression of a professional outfit. The team arrived like clockwork every morning and left the house spotless at the end of each day. The work has been completed to a very high standard (we are very fussy), completed exactly on time and on budget despite a few client extras. It has exceeded our expectations and it's refreshing to find tradesmen who take such pride in the detail and quality of their work. We can't recommend RS Aston enough! Chris and Laurie Powell

We decided to hire R.S. Aston Builders based in the online feedback, which sometimes can be misleading. That was not the case and Richard and team did an amazing job expanding our kitchen. Key attributes: - On time, on budget. - High quality. - Extremely professional. - Attention to detail. - Left everything clean an neat. We will definitely use Richard's company again in the future.

Richard and his team completely refitted our kitchen along with replacing our bedroom and hallway ceilings, installing a new boiler, converting the old boiler space into a usable cupboard, and some general electrics work. We were carefully consulted at the start and throughout the process, with Richard & Darren ensuring we understood the implications of any major decisions and thoroughly explaining the required work and associated costs (being first time buyers we'd never had to consult with tradesman before). The guys were always polite, friendly and approachable with all of the work finished to a high standard - the kitchen is unrecognisable from how it looked beforehand. Highly recommended.

Richard and his team to took out a supporting wall and installed a new kitchen and associated works. We chose Richard due to his detailed competitive quote and enthusiasm about our job. Throughout the work they were punctual, easily contactable and as clean and tidy as they could be! We are extremely happy with the result and our kitchen has been completed to a high level of craftsmanship. We were offered a follow up visit for any snags and really struggled to find anything wrong! We would definitely recommend Richard and his team and they would be our first contact for any future works.

Richard and his squad completely rebuilt and refitted my bathroom. This is the third time this company has done work for me over a period of 15 years. They are easy to deal with, competitive and work to the highest standards.

After a long search of local suppliers we decided on Richard and his team to fit a new kitchen. The professionalism in the early survey work and ideas put forward from his experience really impressed. All the work was undertaken in a clean and professional manner. We were impressed with the attitude from day one, time keeping was excellent as were the creative ideas as the project evolved. Finished product is superb. Genuinely pleasing to find a company that really prides itself on its work and reputation. We would have no hesitation in recommending Richard and his team.

Cloakroom and wall removal - So good we have asked for follow-on work! We needed a wall knocked through between the kitchen and dining room, and part of the disused kitchen converted into a cloakroom and cupboard area. Richard and his team completed to time and budget and the work looks exceptional, we are very pleased with the result. With parents staying with us most of this time they were very conscious that they kept noise and dust down to a controlled level, and always tidied after themselves. Additional works has been done which they suggested, and this is all for the better as the job looks fantastic! Once the kitchen is finished I'll post pictures - R.S.Aston are highly recommended by us. Sean and Tanya

I have recently used Astons to repair and update the guttering on our house. From the very beginning they were polite, helpful and with regards to the pricing, reasonable. The contractors they used to put up the scaffolding were professional, quick and tidy and the work that was carried out was to the standard I expected. I would have no hesitation in recommending R.S. Aston as a professional, local building firm.

R S Aston Builders did a major refurbishment of our living room this summer which now means the company has renovated every room in our house over the years. We can't recommend them highly enough - the boys are friendly, punctual and, most importantly, very tidy. The work is always of a very high standard and finished off beautifully. It's a testament to their good work that rooms they first did over six years ago still look as though they were finished very recently.

We would recommend R S Aston Builders with no hesitation. Richard and his team completed a very large project which involved knocking down and erecting new walls and ceilings, installing a new kitchen, utility & cloakroom, extensive electrical work and tiling the whole ground floor, everything being finished to a very high standard. I was very impressed with the way the team cleaned up at the end of each day and how conscientious and considerate they all were - I would certainly use them again. Thank you guys for all your hard work, we love our new home.

R.S Aston Builders completely refitted my en suite and my main bathroom. An excellent, professional, dependable and courteous service throughout. Quality fittings and fitments with a fantastic finish throughout with the minimal amount of fuss or mess. I would highly recommend them. Five stars. Glen - Calcot

R S Aston have done a lot of work for me over past 8 months updating my 1950's bungalow: new bathroom, new flooring throughout, renovated kitchen, electrics, decorating etc.. The work is of a very high quality and was carried out by a very professional team who were friendly, efficient and punctual. Every day they cleaned up and left the place clean and tidy. I am very pleased with the standard of work and thrilled with my new attractive comfortable home.

R S Aston Builders carried out extensive remodelling work to our kitchen in 2012 and we were very impressed with the standard of the pre works service from Richard and also the quality of the work during the build and the finish, which is outstanding. We were so pleased with the quality that we immediately asked Richard and his incredibly professional team to remodel our bathroom as well, which was completed on budget and to the highest standards. We would highly recommend Richard and his team for any remodelling, refurbishment or building work
