We wanted to put an offer on a property last year but wanted to get an idea on structural issues (particularly the roof) first and a quote on the cost of repairs, and Richard went above and beyond, and produced a detailed report on the issues for us. It was well worth paying for the quote and we should soon now be moving in! Great service for quotes and very friendly to communicate with.

I would absolutely recommend Richard and team. We wanted a bathroom refit in our Victorian house with some additional works to adjoining rooms including radiators and electrics. From previous experience we suspected that this would reveal structural problems. From the beginning Richard worked with us, listened to our concerns and provided detailed quotes. Once work started and revealed the expected issues he explained the problems and our options clearly and honestly so we could make decisions. We recently had a new kitchen fitted by RS Aston Builders. We were anxious about having such a big job done as there always seems to be some issues with the house! However, Richard, Joe and Tom were so professional, and nothing seemed to be a problem. Richard spent a long time going through all the options with us when we were designing and choosing our kitchen. He was always quick with responses if I emailed him any queries and gave such great advice when we were considering options. The quote that Richard sent me was very detailed which was great to see and make any changes required. When the work started Richard, Joe and Tom were so considerate of our working from home. There were some issues with the house along the way, but Richard made me feel confident in their work and they sorted any problems out seamlessly. At the end of each day they cleared, cleaned and tidied the area in which they were working. Richard sent interim, detailed invoices along the way which we really appreciated. The detail to the work that they have carried out is amazing. We are so pleased with our kitchen – it’s the best room in the house now! As well as being so professional, Richard, Joe and Tom are so friendly – I’ll miss them!

Richard and the team have done a fantastic job renovating our 60s property to a modern mid century feel bringing it back to a conditional that’s probably better than when it was new. Having so much work needed doing at once was daunting but Richard planned and arranged every aspect of our bathroom and kitchen which included gutting downstairs. The structural work to combine the kitchen dinner and install a large feature window have transformed the space making it hard to believe they’re the same rooms. We really appreciate the attention to detail the team takes which makes the space a joy to use day to day, the work has totally transformed the way we live in our home.

We chose Richard because he did a larger kitchen refurbishment for our daughter in a house built in 1906 and we were very impressed with his workmanship and attention to detail. Richard and team did a marvellous job refitting 2 bathrooms and a kitchen which was not in any way straightforward in a 1930's house. They always arrived punctually and kept us updated on progress. They helped us to choose what appliances would fit to maximise space and had very helpful suggestions. Richard coordinated the electrician, plumber, plasterer and flooring specialist and masterminded the project from start to finish. The only problem after completion was due to a faulty part which was a manufacturer's fault and twice Richard's team came next day to replace it. I would have no hesitation in recommending Richard to anyone wanting work done.

Our kitchen refurbishment by R S Aston Builders was a project very well managed from start to finish with Richard organising the electrician, plumber, gas man, flooring specialists etc. The workmanship and eye to detail is excellent and pride taken in every aspect of their work. We have been very happy with the 4 weeks that the R.S. Aston team spent on our kitchen renovation. Richard helped advise, plan and design a user-friendly kitchen and prioritise choices to work around budget constraints. Richard organises all the relevant electricians, gas engineers etc. as part of the project. Joe and Richard installed a brilliant quality kitchen with a very high standard of workmanship. They cleaned up every day and treated our home with respect. A dog friendly team, so our spaniel enjoyed the process too. The service of Richard Aston is fabulous. We have had him doing jobs for improvements at our house twice and we have been very pleased with what he has done and the way he works. We are delighted with the kitchen that Richard and Joe have created for us. I have waited, literally, years to have a properly fitted kitchen and, it’s no exaggeration to say that Richard Aston and Joe have made this, virtually, a life-changing experience. When we employed Richard Aston and his crew to do the bathroom, I had very specific ideas about how I wanted it to look – the bath, itself, was 70 years old and the house was built in the 1950s. The end result has been perfect. It fits with the look of the house but has a modern edge. Richard and his colleagues did an amazing job: clean and efficient. But, above all, I cannot find a flaw in their work. Everything in the bathroom works perfectly, fits perfectly and long years in the trade mean that Richard can advise you on any aspect of your bathroom refurbishment. We are very happy with the end result.

Richard and Joe just completed a 7 week job with us. We are extremely pleased with the result. They removed an old kitchen, blocked an old backdoor, raised the height of a chimney breast and installed a brand new kitchen with quartz worktops, with new radiators, range cooker, renovated larder, and bi-fold doors. New pendant and spot lights, painted walls, new floors and a new sash window finished the look. The guys also completely renovated the utility room. Richard and Joe were very professional from initial quote to last visit, and always left the place tidy at the end of the day. Even the skip was well-organised. This sort of job is a big investment for most people and we really trusted Richard and his working practices - we believe we got very good value for money, and I have already started a wish list of other jobs for Richard and Joe. Richard and his team have recently fitted our beautiful new kitchen. This is the third major work they have carried out for us. Task 1 was replacement of the ceiling in our kitchen/diner and building a cloakroom in that area. Task 2 was refurbishment of our dilapidated bathroom. Task 3 was to redesign our very awkwardly shaped kitchen, including replacement of the windows and door. A number of difficulties were encountered, due to previous poor workmanship. All were solved in a very professional way, with consultation when required. We now have a very smart, functional kitchen, which is a joy to work in. With all 3 projects, we received detailed estimates, which were very close to the final price. All work was to a very high standard, as was the advice offered before and during the process. Richard was an excellent project manager and everyone involved was polite and sensitive to our situation. This reduced our stress levels considerably. I would recommend Richard wholeheartedly.

Just had our bathroom completely renovated by RS Aston. These are the best builders I have ever worked with, and can’t fault them at all. Aside from the stunning bathroom they created they are reliable , tidy and turn up every day - that might sound basic, but we have had other builders before who didn’t even show on some days as they were juggling other projects. Will use again and absolutely no concerns about them at all.

The service, care and attention we received from RS Aston from their first visit for an estimate through to completing the kitchen was exceptional. We required a wall removing an RSJ putting in and the whole kitchen and family room gutting decorating. Not only was the craftmanship and attention to exceptional (comments from visiting friends and neighbours) but the advice we were given whilst making such difficult large decisions was perfect, helping us to avoid what would have been bad decisions on reflection. Despite finding some surprises (from the original builders poor work) the whole project was delivered within 5% of the original estimate and on time. This was a large and scary project for us and RS Aston managed the whole process keeping us well informed and able to make detail decisions (and changes of mind) as we went through. I would not hesitate to use RS Aston again, the final result was much better than we could possibly of hoped for,

I engaged RS Aston to renovate my bathroom and it was a decision well made. The quality of workmanship was absolutely second to none, I have had guests round to show it off! The price was extremely competitive, especially considering some unforseen problems popped up. A real nice extra touch was the way everything was taken in their stride, the unforseen issues were dealt with professionally and efficiently, making what could have been a very stressful time for me very smooth indeed. An absolutely professional job, the guys worked like trojans to get the job complete as efficiently as possible without sacrificing quality and craftmanship. They even left my home cleaner than when they arrived! Hugely impressed, would highly recommend them to anyone considering utilising their services.

We are absolutely delighted with our new kitchen, designed and fitted by R S Aston. Although we had very specific requirements there was never any sighing and tooth sucking. They just got on with it and put together the kitchen we have always wanted. We were particularly impressed with the way they co-ordinated the work, bringing in an electrician and someone to make and fit the door at exactly the right time so there was no delay in getting the work done. Their advice on colour schemes, kitchen appliances, lighting and everything else down to tiles and cupboard handles was invaluable. The builders themselves were polite and friendly and very understanding of the fact that there were dogs in the house who might bark at them. I think the dogs missed them when they left. Richard and his team completely refitted our kitchen along with replacing our bedroom and hallway ceilings, installing a new boiler, converting the old boiler space into a usable cupboard, and some general electrics work. Cloakroom and wall removal - So good we have asked for follow-on work! We needed a wall knocked through between the kitchen and dining room, and part of the disused kitchen converted into a cloakroom and cupboard area. Richard and his team completed to time and budget and the work looks exceptional, we are very pleased with the result. With parents staying with us most of this time they were very conscious that they kept noise and dust down to a controlled level, and always tidied after themselves. I have recently used Astons to repair and update the guttering on our house. From the very beginning they were polite, helpful and with regards to the pricing, reasonable. R S Aston Builders did a major refurbishment of our living room this summer which now means the company has renovated every room in our house over the years. R S Aston have done a lot of work for me over past 8 months updating my 1950's bungalow: new bathroom, new flooring throughout, renovated kitchen, electrics, decorating etc..
